FYI, I have applied for my passport and have a SmartyPig untouchable savings account where, come hell or high water, I'm coming to London in March or April. I know you've had other family members to come do the tourist thing, although I am determined not to be touristy (i.e. no Buckingham Palace or Madame Tussuad, probably much more time finding every cool pub and TV-related thing possible.) So please start mentally compiling all the things that I should see or do in four days. Cheap is good, because food and hotel alone will kill me after the airfare does its job. :) And of course, I hope you have some free time whilst I'm there. My sister and her husband are coming over later this year themselves, although her's is at least partially work-related.

Aw, mom. What a killjoy. Do you remember what you thought of me in similar circumstances? BTW there is a new biography of your favority poet Emily. It was reviewed in The Economist. I guess you missed it since Simon canceled the subscription. Perhaps a Christmas present????

We have a general ban on Disney in our household, but it's so ubiquitous that occasionally something slips through the net. I have seen an episode of this Disney Pooh. Dreadful. Bore absolutely no resemblance in look or tone to the original. And no Christopher Robin. And in that episode, no Eeyore either. Bah!

Love this one. I have a similar feeling about Winnie the Pooh. It's been primary coloured and Disneyfied. And I don't understand what happened to Christopher Robin. He was one of my childhood heroes.
